Design of Experiment (DoE)

Design of Experiments (DoE) is used in development and optimization of products and processes. Experiments consume resources so the applicant is confronted to a conflict between quality and reliability of his results and the expenditure. Design of Experiments aims to determine as accurate as possible effect relationships and targets in as few efforts (experiments as well as simulations or calculations and extrapolations) as possible.

In contrast to former and traditional approaches that tried to determine (by varying) only one factor DoE is based on

  • at least 2 factors to be determined
  • the nature of the factors to be determined (quantitative or qualitative)
  • already existing information
  • desired accuracy/reliability

The result of those considerations is summarized in a plan.

Determined factors finally can be evaluated by statistics.

The PANDA system allows in a one-package-solution to collect data even in bigger amounts, to treat data and display any desired aspect and to automatically generate reports.

 

 

Process Design supported with PANDA

PANDA is a flexible system to support the process design phase. CPP data of experimental processes can be captured in different systems like OSI PI or GECCO. Also CQA data can be already available via LIMS systems, via Excel or GECCO. In the process design phase, PANDA supports the responsible users in research and engineering with analysis reports which bring together the influencing process parameters and the resulting product properties. With PANDA system in this stage Critical Process Parameters (CPP) und Critical Quality Attributes (CQA) can be defined and continuously monitored over the whole product lifecycle. Deviations from the design space are easily detected.
